1. Health Above All
Take excellent care of your health, above all. Quality of your health directly influences quality of your life. Physical health improves longevity and enhances mental health. Mental health lets you make better decisions. Neglecting health means you’re compromising on quality of life.
2. There Is Only Now
Time is an illusion, there is no concept of the past or the future, it doesn’t exist. All there is, is the now, the present moment. Focus on making the right use of it instead of worrying about the non-existent past or the future.
3. Work On The Right Thing
You are nothing without discipline and hard work, however what you do is infinitely more important than how well you do it or how hard you work on it. Efficiency doesn’t mean shit if you’re working on the wrong thing. A task requiring a lot of effort doesn’t make that task important.
4. Memento Mori
Remember everyday, you could die today, this moment, any moment. Every iteration of a thing you do could very well be the last iteration. Understand that and perform every single iteration like it’s the last iteration, cause one day you will be correct.
5. Gratitude
Don’t take things for granted, don’t be ungrateful. You have been given a chance at life at a very good time. The world is an amazing place with amazing people. Be very grateful for everything, cause you’re overlooking how crazy it is to have the life you’re living. Improve your gratitude.
6. Dichotomy Of Control
You have to understand and preach the dichotomy of control. Things are either in your control or they are not. Worrying about things that are not in your control is useless — it’s the same as worrying that it’s raining today. You can’t control whether it rains or not.
